We are just now in the process of wrapping up our second inventory reduction sale with the Lynch Sales Company. Having been very successful with our first event two years ago, and deciding that it was time for us to change up our inventory, we did not hesitate to call the Lynch Sales Company and request Chris Kulikowski, the experienced sale coordinator who had run our first event.
While we did not anticipate meeting the numbers we had experienced during our first event, we were very pleased to have come close and to have both experienced very strong special order business throughout the sale as well as maintaining surprisingly healthy margins.
I think the most important lesson of our first event was the fact that we were able to maintain our image as a healthy business and our reputation as a high-end retailer and provider of design service throughout and after the sale event. This was proven by our considerable success with developing design clients who had been first introduced to us through the sale. Not only did having run this sort of event not hurt our design business, but also our profile with our customer base was elevated by the greater exposure the event had provided.
The additional sales staff, and Patty Anderson, who ran the oriental rug program, was all professional and knowledgeable and worked seamlessly with our existing team throughout the sale. We have and will continue to highly recommend the Lynch Sales Co. to any other high-end furniture retailer hoping to improve their business.
